My inspiration for this piece is Jeremiah 17:9
"The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately sick; who can understand it?"
We are never satisfied
;Jesus stood before us proclaiming to be "The Son of God", The "Living Word Of God," and tells us He came to "save us". We would/do probably doubt Him; whether it be doubt that He could save us or that we even need saving. Doubt nonetheless.
We shake our fist at this "God-Man" and say "where's the proof!? I need witnesses!?"
A number of witnesses stepped forward and wrote down their statements of proof and began to read it out loud in front of everybody. They explained how it linked up with some prophecy from long ago.
Offended that we could be so insulted by sinful men, we threw rocks at them and tell them "You're just men, we wont hear from you! We need it from The Source!"
"But, God said 'This is my Beloved Son' and 'Listen to Him'!” a witness steps up and cries out.
We cross our arms with authority,” But where is the proof that this "Living Word" is God...” We snarl at them
Jesus steps forward His eyes seeming to peer into our deepest of deeps holding out His pierced hands. "It was a Word Alone that created you intricately; designing you in a fearfully yet wonderfully manner. When I stepped back to look upon my work, you were Marvelous! I am that Word. I was there in the beginning and you and anything that has been made wouldn't be made without me. I am the Light, The Truth and The Way. I am the beginning and the last. Alpha and Omega, I and the Father are One! It's okay if you don't understand that right now, soon you will know in full as you are fully known! And you will see me at the right hand of the Father, coming with the clouds of heaven, great power, and glory. He who receives me receives He who sent me. " His eyes were soft, maybe even inviting. A tinge of sadness twinkled in His eye knowing our thoughts and disbelief. "I don't care about your past or what you've done. I want you back and I'm here to save you." It was almost like He was speaking directly to someone.
We are stuck, speechless you may say. Do we hold onto our disbelief? What does this message of salvation mean for us? Share your thoughts below in love ❤
